Hello everyone, I recently assembled my new PC and selected the Asus x470 Gaming-F Motherboard paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X. The setup with Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM (four 8GB sticks, DDR4 3200MHz C16) is causing major compatibility issues. After spending a week trying to fix the problem of inconsistent posting, I’ve encountered unpredictable behavior—sometimes the system posts, other times it only shows the yellow DRAM LED when it fails to post.

I’ve shared my troubleshooting steps in two Reddit threads: one about the ASUS forum and another on tech support. In short, I’ve done the following: repositioned RAM and power cables, replaced other components besides the CPU, tested RAM sticks individually, ran memory tests, used XMP profiles from CPU-Z, adjusted BIOS settings, and even tried different timings manually.

The most stable solution came when I switched DOCP on, used a 56 tRc profile, and performed multiple cold boots (including turning off/on the PSU). After that, the system booted normally without BSODs. When DOCP was enabled or timings were manually set, it still caused issues—sometimes cycling through power cycles helped, but after shutdowns it would take several attempts to get it running.

I’m seeking advice on further steps, especially since I’m running BIOS version 5406 with updated chipset drivers. Any suggestions would be invaluable. Thanks!

Is there a setting for Normal when you select voltages for CPU and SOC? If yes, try that. Otherwise, set CPU to Auto and SOC to 1.05, then slowly raise it to 1.15 to check if it improves things. Back in release versions I was a bit picky, but Gigabyte fixed it. It might just be Asus being less thorough with QVL testing for memory on the 3xxx lineup.

Thank you for your response. In bios you have options to set values manually or use an offset, or leave them on auto. Initially, adjusting PSU settings helped after a reboot, but since this problem is unpredictable, I can't guarantee it will always occur. I plan to test various voltages tomorrow to identify the most stable setting.

EDIT: At 1.1v it was stable briefly before hanging during a cold start. Turning power on and off resolved it. The issue remains inconsistent, so I’m unsure if it’s hardware or software related—potential fixes like BIOS updates or timing adjustments might help later.
