In Win10, Ram isn't being read, but it works in CPUZ.
Hello everyone, I own an ASUS P6X58D Premium board equipped with a Xeon W3690 and 12GB (6x2GB) Kingston RAM HyperX 1333MHz. When using Windows 10, I encountered issues with BIOS and the system reporting only 4 of 6 slots filled. However, Win10 is reading 8GB and the task manager shows only 4 slots available. According to CPU-Z, all 12GB slots are functional. After updating the BIOS, rolling back the changes, reinstalling Windows, and trying new drivers, I’ve confirmed everything works correctly. I’ve tested different RAM sticks in the slots, but the two closest to the CPU (slots A1 and A2) remain dead for several months until I ran a CPU-Z check today. Anyone have any insights or solutions? I also shared photos from my previous post, but this one includes edits—every stick has been tested multiple times and is now working fine. I’m planning to try another set next time.
Bios and CPU-Z can verify the presence of memory modules, yet this doesn't confirm they're functioning properly. I faced an issue with a dual-channel stick that stopped working unexpectedly, and I wasn't sure how long it had been since it stopped working without realizing. I kept it in my collection because it once worked, but I've struggled to get it back online. It might help running Memtest86 to ensure all memory sticks are operational.
