In-Wall HDMI Issues
In-Wall HDMI Issues
Hello everyone, I’m facing some problems with the video signal setup. My wife got an Xbox Series X, and she didn’t want all the cables sticking out to the wall. I tried connecting the HDMI directly from the TV to the Xbox, thinking it would work. After turning it on, I accessed the home page and everything seemed fine, but when launching a game, the TV would go black and show “No Signal - Check Input Device.” After some troubleshooting, it looks like the signal strength isn’t sufficient for smooth gameplay. Here’s the setup I used: cables from Amazon, connectors from Amazon. If you have any suggestions or alternatives, please let me know! Thanks in advance.
It’s likely that many cables and couplers will cause noticeable signal loss. Consider using just one coupler to test performance. If it doesn’t work, adjust your TV settings to lower bandwidth requirements. You might also try enabling features like HDMI deep color reduction. Regarding running a long HDMI cable from the Xbox through the wall to the TV, it’s probably not feasible unless the cable is active and properly configured.
I removed the TV and cable from the wall, it works fine with two units but fails with three. The question is whether adding an A/V receiver will help or if another device is needed.
If the distance inside walls is considerable, consider switching to an active HDMI cable—likely a fiber optic version—as a middle segment and see if the signal remains solid. Simultaneously, keep runs brief from the keystone to each device. Purchase multiple cables from Amazon or similar sites and test after use. It appears affordable HDMI 2.1 active repeaters are scarce: one costs around $100 USD here https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Repe...0CFFSY9ZQ/. Optical cables like this one are also pricey: https://www.heyoptics.net/products/8k-hd...ical-cable
Checked this out and will test it; if it doesn’t work, I’ll look for a better option! https://a.co/d/2VjBknn
