Hello! I’m planning to assemble a PC for my friend using your old case (CM MasterBox 5 white mesh). I wanted to share my thoughts on whether a 4C/8T or 6C/6T would be better for gaming. Both price points around 3300x and 3500 are similar in Japan, which is good. She mentioned a budget of about ¥70,000, though I know most listings go higher. I offered to cover the extra amount—around ¥75,000—by paying half of it (¥2,500).

Consider getting the Ryzen 3 3100 for a lower cost. A 550-watt power supply works well with most gaming PCs. Is the Corsair CX550 more affordable in Japan? The 3300X offers quicker clock speeds, making it a better choice for gaming compared to the 3500.

The CX550m costs ¥6,566 and the CX650m ¥6,791, roughly a $2 difference. I need at least a 650W power supply to allow future upgrades. Also, I might trade in my RTX 2070 for the GPU she chooses—1650, 1650S, or 1660—and sell it.

As mentioned earlier, building a PC requiring a 650-watt power supply isn't straightforward. Check my signature below for the power consumption details. Are there only CXM options available, or is there a cheaper CX alternative?

I'm sorry about the edit. The variation is just a couple of dollars. I believe they don't offer the non M model in Japan. When looking up cx550/cx650, the results always show the M version.

You've looked at the PSU tier list for alternative options. The Ryzen 3 3100 offers savings versus the 3300X and should fit within your budget.

3100 costs 13,178 yuan. It's 2,355 yuan less than the 3300x price.

I’m new to other PSUs and usually stick to Corsair ones when assembling PCs. I’ve heard positive things about EVGA products, though they’re currently out of stock in Japan. Would you suggest a more affordable option?

I avoid buying based on brands and focus on quality. The Corsair CV650 works well for a budget build, but it differs from the CV550 and CV450. You may find similar options at reasonable prices.

I looked up “550W bronze” and “650W bronze.” Here are the findings, ordered from lowest to highest price.
