Hi everyone, I'm just starting to share my PC details. It's an Intel i7-8700K CPU running on a 3.7GHz speed and paired with a 2070 Super GPU from Gigabyte using the Z390 UD motherboard. The RAM is Corsair RM750x, which has a powerful 80 Plus Gold power supply rated at 750W.
Firstly, I tried playing Modern Warfare 2 beta and noticed something strange in the first two minutes of every match where my PC would stutter and jump between 144 to 40 FPS. After that two-minute mark, things would get back to smooth with no stutters. Also, when I dropped frames, my GPU power usage would go from around 80% down to about 40%.
I thought this might just be an issue with the beta version of the game. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers just in case it was a driver problem (even though I have no problems on any other games). I'm hoping that won't happen when the full game comes out and if this stuttering thing is coming back.
My brother recently bought the game too, and it's happening to him as well. We live in different houses and his computer setup is totally different from mine. Because of all that, I guess it has something to do with COD (Call of Duty). I've looked into this issue online and no one else seems to have this exact same problem. So maybe it's something specific to what I downloaded on my brother's PC? I'm not sure but here are a couple screenshots and videos showing when it happens, so could someone please help me out? Use Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Process Explorer to check what your computer is doing right now or if it stops working for those few minutes. Try using all three tools but only pick one to look at at a time. Open Process Explorer (Microsoft, free): https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysint...s-explorer Launch the tool and move windows around on the screen or onto a second monitor just to keep an eye on it. Then start playing games normally while watching closely. Hopefully you'll see some changes in resources when something goes wrong. Spend time and effort to figure out what's happening, be patient, and don't rush. Take your time, stay organized.
Sometimes I catch the same glitch, and my frame rate hovers near 100, but at times it crashes down to about 60 for a while before going back up. Honestly, I think this is because the game is brand new.
