You recently got a Late 2011 iMac as a gift and were curious about using it. It was mostly wiped, showing only Mac OS X Lion online. When trying to install Mac OS, you encounter the error about missing components. You have a 2015 MBP 15-inch model and have made attempts to create a bootable USB on both devices, but the process consistently fails midway. Are there any possible solutions?
It led me back to the identical lion reinstall page that doesn't download on both LAN and Wi-Fi.
I have gotten the same thing happening to me. I had to do a fresh install from USB to get mine working. I had to download the image file. The latest OS I could find for you was Sierra, you'll probably have to update it from the app store. Here's the link for Sierra: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208202
