Looking ahead to getting GTA V, I'm thinking about purchasing an Xbox One controller for my PC. I haven't played any PC games like GTA yet—I only enjoyed them on consoles as a beginner. Would anyone prefer controllers for titles such as this, especially those involving driving?
In GTA IV, flying feels much smoother using a controller, while driving works just fine with a mouse and keyboard.
I rely on a controller for navigation, but that covers the basics. Steering is straightforward, and handling firefights with KB+M is quite manageable.
You recently bought an Xbox One controller for this title. Playing actions like shooting and navigating works well with a keyboard and mouse, but controlling movement and flight becomes frustrating. I’m hoping Microsoft will soon release the wireless adapter for the Xbox One controller.
I'll rely on keyboard, mouse input, plus an Xbox One controller.
You lack throttle adjustment via keyboard, so it’s either maximum or off. Same with steering—full lock or none. Pressing A or D repeatedly will make it turn less. Get a controller; an Xbox 360 one will be under $10/£10 on eBay.
