Video of the Problem: Frame rate drops noticeably in the updated region. I’m puzzled as my GPU/CPU isn’t being used fully. System details: Windows 10, GPU GTX 980, CPU I74790k, 16GB RAM, SSD Samsung Evo 860. After restarting, I launched the game right away.

It seems the system is operating near full capacity, over 50% utilization across all cores. HT provides a marginal boost, but actual performance drops significantly between 50% and 100%, often falling well below 0-50%.

You wouldn't be disappointed with this game. It's truly a letdown compared to others.

This has nothing to do with your question. You're not assisting at all.

You can run tests to check for CPU limits by monitoring system usage or using profiling tools.

Your CPU usage staying above 50% indicates a problem. If you can speed up the processor so it drops below that threshold, it should improve things. Slowing it down might actually make the issue worse. Adjusting settings could help reduce the load. You're wondering if this behavior occurs in Sumeru and not in the older areas?

I'm facing the same problem too. It seems the main cause is the CPU capacity, not the GPU. My friend has the same GPU but runs smoothly with 8GB of 4800MHz DDR5 memory, while I'm stuck.

It seems your CPU might be underperforming compared to its specifications. They suggest a Core i7 8700K, but using an AMD A6 3600 APU didn’t help. That likely explains the issue.
