7700K runs most titles smoothly at 144fps, though for AAA experiences you might need a Ryzen 3700X or i7-10600K to handle the demands.

You meant either the i7 10700K or the i5 10600K. Either option would work, though the 10700K is slightly better. As I mentioned earlier, the user should consider upgrading the CPU before the GPU.

3700X offers better value compared to the 10700K. It's marginally quicker mainly because of higher clock speeds. Other factors include lower power use, better thermal efficiency, and a stronger performance ratio. The FPU is also more capable, which helps with graphics tasks.

clocks and overclock features perform much better with Team Intel overall. I can confirm that the 10700k falls short compared to the 3700x in multi-core efficiency. Power usage is noticeably lower for the 3700x than the 10700k, especially if you have a 5GHz processor—even with a free cooler, it’s unlikely you’d use the 10700k because it’s unlocked at 5GHz and runs hot. Price to performance isn’t fair here; the 3700x offers significantly better value. The 2000 series also gains a lot from a 5GHz CPU, so picture how much the 3000 series would benefit from that upgrade.

Well if we think it over remember that games do become more multi-threaded, not to mention next-gen consoles uses same Zen2 cores as 3700X & 3800X https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Int...3485vs3499 Including to that the FPU & single-threaded performance caused the FX to suffer in games if we look at how things are going would you not agree the FPU & multi-threaded is probably more important in the long run? Unless OP replaces CPU every 2-3 years I would agree the intel choices are better since its a short term investment. (in which case the 10600K gets my vote!)

When the processor reaches maximum capacity, continue using it.
