Hi.
I intend to refresh my 2019 gaming setup by swapping from DDR4 to DDR5 while keeping costs near €800-900 and improving durability.
I’m considering minor changes such as the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and possibly the heatsink and case.
My current configuration looks like this:
Motherboard: AsRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
RAM: G.Skill F4-3200c14d-16gfx
CPU Cooler: Freezer 33 eSports ONE
Power Supply: Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650W
Video card: GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GAMING 8G
Monitor: AOC 27G2G4
Case: NZXT S340
Storage: Crucial MX500 2*TB SSD, Crucial MX300 750GB SSD
For the CPU+motherboard+video card+RAM I was thinking:
DDR5 32GB G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2x16GB TZ5NR RGB Black [F5-6000J3238F16GX2-T] - €122
MSI B650 Gaming Plus wifi 4xDDR5 ATX AMD - 170€
Ryzen 5 7600X - 203€
MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Gaming X 8Gb - 384€
My country is Italy.
I’m unsure about the heatsink and case...
What are your thoughts?
Thank you very much.

Although you've shown a promising and reliable choice for an upgrade, the AM4 platform still offers a path to match the performance of the AM5 7600X. Should you not require PCIe 4.0 or DDR5, these upgrades will boost your gaming experience with improved frame rates and more RAM, enhancing overall gameplay duration.

I believe your reasoning is sound and share your concern about using a 2018 motherboard with newer parts.

If you're okay updating the BIOS to version F30 or higher, this appears optimal.

You can adapt most of your components to achieve the best CPU socket fit and a very strong GPU.
