Hey everyone, just checking in—upgrading from Ryzen 3 3100 to 5 3600. Is the extra cost worth it? The price gap is roughly £30/$35. Should I go for the 3600XT or save and stick with the standard model? Also, I’ve looked around but not sure if it fits my ASRock B450M Pro4 board.

The price rose by 15%, but the performance improved by 5%. That’s a solid gain—worth it if it fits your budget and values. The focus is on getting the best outcome for you. Yes, the change will be noticeable.

Yes, if the Ryzen 3100 functions, the 3600 and 3600X should too.

Thanks! I saw some opinions online saying it's not worth it, but now you mentioned a 5% boost in performance, which might be worth considering for my needs. I looked up the B450M mATX on PC Part Picker and noticed they suggested a BIOS update. @Spotty, I’m not sure how reliable that site is with such details.

The 5600x won't fit on the B450, right? I think so. I'd probably need to budget a bit more for the motherboard too. That could turn into a tough "chase" situation.

I'm keeping costs in mind and considering selling my 3 3100 to upgrade to the new model. I plan to use light to medium VR on my PC and think this upgrade will help me reach my 1650Super goal.

It should function with a beta version of the software.
