My processor is now running at 3.4Ghz from 2.66 and it appears stable.
I was thinking about my 4GB RAM being at 800Mhz, but after overclocking the CPU it’s now at 850Mhz Buss.
Is that a positive change or a problem? My current rated FSB is 1700Mhz, and my motherboard supports up to 1066 MHz, 667 MHz, or 800 MHz for RAM speeds. Did I make any mistakes during the overclocking process?
Check the CPU-z images and CoreTemp data.
My specifications:
I installed a new cooler from Thermaltake for the CPU.
G-card: Nvida GTX 750
RAM: 2x2GB RAM at 800Mhz
Hard Disk: 1TB
Processor: Intel Q9400 2.66Ghz, overclocked to 3.4Ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P31-ES3G

It's neither positive nor negative. Adjusting your CPU clock also boosts RAM speed. Have a stable 3.4 GHz.

Yeah I adjust it but I can also lower it. When I was around 3.2ghz it felt like 960MHz of RAM speed, so I added +2.00 on RAM to reach 800Mhz, and it works the same for 3.4Ghz from 1000Mhz with a bit more adjustment. The "Enjoy your stable 3.4 GHz" means keeping the performance steady at that frequency.
