I own an older laptop at home with an i3 3rd gen processor, a 500GB hard drive, and 4GB of RAM. I repeatedly attempted to upgrade Windows 8.1 to 10, but each time during installation it would freeze around 70% and then crash, showing a message that says "Windows 10 couldn't be installed."

Do a fresh setup on this device to get the best results. It’ll save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
