You can usually get a better setup by buying the modem and router together. They often come bundled, but checking local stores or online retailers can help you find options under $250. For a typical 1,000 sq ft home, look for reliable models like the TP-Link Archer AX85G or Netgear Nighthawk X, which offer solid performance and good value.

You're experiencing slow performance or unreliable connections.
Your home setup consists of typical materials like concrete blocks or wood.
You're looking to improve your network experience, often using a router/modem combo and planning to switch to a dedicated router.

slow speeds affect me between 15-30mbps, which is below the required 100mbps. My setup includes a wooden house and I'm using it for streaming, school tasks, emails, and light gaming wireless.

The home was constructed at a later date. You might want to check powerline adapters and explore an AP.

Have you reached out to your internet service provider? It might be an old router, and they may upgrade it for free.

My home was constructed in the late 1970s too, and I appreciate you suggesting the power line adapters.

I could attempt it, but my ISP is a hassle and you’ll have to wait on the phone for a long time.

Separation is always preferable, though they also provide combined packages. Modems match the service type you have (xDSL, Cable, 4G/5G). Without knowing your ISP or service details I can't suggest any products. Also, sometimes you can't change the ISP provider, like with AT&T Fiber.
