Hello, I’m planning to upgrade from a Celeron G440 to a Core I5-2500K. My motherboard is H61M-P3, and I already have the CPU in my hands—both use LGA 1155. I’m not sure if any software changes are needed, like BIOS or operating system updates. Any suggestions for recommended tools?
Typically you don't have to modify any software, but switching the CPU can lead to your Windows license being canceled.
