I was attempting to push my Ryzen 5 3600x beyond its default settings. It usually reaches around 4.3ghz, but I need it steady at that exact frequency. Should I adjust the core ratio to 43? Also, what ring ratio should I use? And what voltage setting is correct for 1.35V?
Securing it at a specific frequency eliminates the per-core boosting benefit for quicker single-threaded tasks, contrary to my suggestion. The ring ratio applies only to Skylake-X architectures, so that’s likely what you were referring to. Are you talking about FCLK? That relates to half the memory speed, not CPU core clock.
What CPU cooler do you have and what are the temperatures. 1.35V is quite high, I wouldn't run this voltage for a 24/7 overclock unless degrading the processor is something that you want. 1.325V should be the voltage that you shouldn't exceed. Also there is no ring ratio. The picture you have taken from the internet is from a Z390 board that accepts an Intel processor. Has absolutely nothing to do with your specifications. If you are going to follow a guide online about overclocking, at least follow one that pertains the overclocking of a Ryzen 3000 series processor. If by ring ratio you mean FCLK (infinity fabric), I wouldn't mess with that if I were you. Overclocking the FCLK has benefits only if you are have system memory that is faster than 3600MHz and you want to keep it running at a 1:1 ratio with it. Even then getting stable overclock on the FCLK will require a lot more than bumping the voltage and messing up with the multiplier.
Stock positive. Including PBO plus offset can boost performance. PBO also lifts all stable core clocks to some extent. That's Intel's approach—not AMD. Run a proper stress test such as prime95; even with stock power limits, temperatures will rise significantly unless your environment is extremely cold.
