Hello everyone! I built a solid gaming PC two years ago for 1440p. It features a 13600k Gigabyte Z690, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and supports 6000/6800 XT. My friend is interested in purchasing it at a fair price, and I have a few thoughts on upgrading if budget allows. Of course, the 5000-series NVIDIA cards aren’t cheap! I currently have an IPS LG monitor and plan to get an OLED TV soon. Gaming makes up about 90% of my usage, with some browsing. Thanks for your help—I’m happy to wait a few weeks or months if something better comes along, since I already have another laptop and the Nintendo Switch. P.S., I’m open to selling the PC now if needed.

Need a 5080 at a good rate? Or hold off for the 5070XT, which looks like it could offer a similar price point.

Consider a (used) 7900xtx or 4090 for maximum GPU performance needed at 4K with decent refresh rates. For higher refresh rates, opt for a 9800x3D or 7800x3D. If budget matters, the 7700 is available on AliExpress.

It seems you don’t need much extra—just a new CPU (9800X3D) and board for around $800. Performance gains beyond 1080p are minimal.
