I attempted to lower the multiplier and boost the bus speed while keeping the clock speeds under 3.9GHz on the AMD A4-6300 APU Dual Core from Gigabyte F2A58M-DS2. Noted a noticeable performance improvement. The reason behind it remains unclear.
Data traveling on a faster bus completes its journey quicker. However, it remains a type of overclocking, which means stability isn't assured. Try it out—you may find you don't need to reduce the multiplier and can simply boost the bus speed slightly for a gentle overclock.
Will the performance improve if you raise the bus speed, even though the clock speed stays the same? This CPU operates at 3.7 GHz and can reach 3.9 GHz. Exceeding 3.9 GHz at 3.912 MHz caused unusual behavior in my PC... DOTA 2 runs smoothly without issues and some games still don’t work, so I kept it under that limit.
