Searching for a better board for my HTPC on eBay, I came across this picture. This cheap board has had its fair share of problems. It seems the processor pins are still stuck in place. Likely someone overused thermal paste and removed a heavy cooler. There might also be issues with the M.2 slot. The seller is asking for $75 for this mess.
The broken socket retention is evident from the missing lever and damaged golden pads beneath the mechanism. If those pads aren’t broken or can be repaired, simply install a new socket retention—likely available on a budget A320 board. It’s likely you can negotiate a lower price since the retention is gone. Without it, the boards are essentially useless; I’d try it myself if I knew how to reinstall the retention and remove it, especially since searching for AMD sockets yields poor results for cooler mounting rather than actual socket support.
I completely missed the missing lever. You're correct. Upon closer inspection, I notice the sheared plastic of the socket, revealing the pads.
