You're right, as long as it's Skylake it doesn't change much.
A GTX would be a bit excessive for that display, but DSR offers a much better image (I have a 1080p screen and use DSR).
I don't think it will become excessive soon, since the games are becoming more graphic-intensive.
What about the differences between i3, i5, and i7 physically?
Well, it's one thing to see it on the TV, but it's another matter knowing that the GPU is delivering maximum content at 1080p.
And that's something I don't really care about, lol.

There is a difference between buying liquid cooling and buying good liquid cooling.
OKayy... so what is considered good? most likely not spending any more than $300 unless its a fire sale or something that really catches me.
AIO coolers would be on the very low end of quality of liquid cooling simply because of the quality of components used, pump performance, etc. They work *OK* for most people, but these buyers also are given the impression that you're getting the full watercooling loop performance and experience at a bargain price and simple package, which is vastly incorrect.
A Toyota Prius and a Lexus LFA are both cars made by the Toyota parent company; both *do* similar things and are meant to move people on roads from point A to point B. However, both do so in vastly different ways and price points.

I3 and I5 are dual core processors with 4 threads each.
I7 is a quad core with 8 threads, though the more expensive i7 models are actually 6 cores with 12 threads.
All I3, I5, and I7 Skylake models are identical.
If a game makes use of the cores and threads, the i7 tends to be the top choice, but many games perform just as well as an i5.
I3 usually doesn’t outperform an i5 because it only has 2 cores, while i5 matches i7 performance.
Google NVIDIA DSR and some reading show it’s quite noticeable

There is a distinction between purchasing liquid cooling solutions and high-quality liquid cooling products. Most likely, spending more than $300 isn't justified unless it's a significant discount or special promotion. AIO coolers generally fall into the lower end of quality, mainly due to component and pump standards. They function adequately for many users but may mislead buyers into thinking they offer full water cooling performance at a cheap price. A Toyota Prius and a Lexus LFA, both from the same manufacturer, serve similar purposes but differ significantly in design and cost. Thanks for the insight. For now, I’ll hold off on building my own setup until I’ve upgraded first. The next game I might try is Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Although I’d love to play Forza again on PC, I’ve heard it’s not a good experience. They just moved it from Xbox and hoped for the same results. Maybe I’ll consider a custom loop later, without all the unnecessary features.

All I3, I5, and I7 Skylake cores are essentially the same. If a game can make use of the cores and threads, I7 tends to be the top choice, though many games still perform just as well as an I5. I3 usually doesn’t match up as well because it only has 2 cores.

I checked NVIDIA DSR and did some reading—it’s pretty noticeable how much performance difference there is.

I’m trying to say that the cores themselves have similar potential for overclocking at around 5GHz. If all cores hit that speed, wouldn’t the i7 be at least as good, if not better, than an i5? I3 usually falls short since it only has 2 cores.

Of course, the price isn’t considered here. What I’m really curious about is whether I could actually get a 6700-k for a good deal.

Edit: I looked into DSR, so it seems this feature is only available on the 10xx cards?

The main benefit of the i7 is hyperthreading, and you can achieve 6 to 8 cores on the CPU. Let's discuss the 4-core i7 (6700k); its only advantage compared to the i5 (6600k) is hyperthreading. Games that don't rely on it perform just as well with the i5. That's why I chose the 6600k and overclocked it.

I just ran Intel burn test and xtu to verify the CPU stability, haven't really pushed it.

I just ran Intel burn test and xtu to verify the CPU stability, haven't really pushed it much.
http://gpu.userbenchmark.com
In the top right corner, click the test and run the executable.
=p http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/1862017
The test was performed at 4.5ghz, but Tomb Raider kept crashing, so I lowered it to 4.5ghz (no other crashes at 4.6ghz... felt).
