Your current system is using updated hardware, but your original Windows product key isn’t automatically transferred to the new setup. Loading the old hardware won’t restore the old key unless you manually reinstall it or use a recovery tool.

There are unlawful methods to bypass restrictions, though I’m not supporting them. You might also try an OEM key (I possess one for W10 Pro) and the phone activation system. I set up a Toshiba laptop key on a Dell desktop that way.

It's Windows that does this. Check the video Linus recorded about it (the link isn't remembered). When you switch hardware on Windows servers, it feels like a fresh system and your current key stops working. You may need a different one. Kingwin, time!

Windows 10 Pro, I used to have Windows 7 Pro two years back. I installed it as a pre-built system in Japan. If the store I bought it from doesn’t provide the original product key, I’m really upset. I was so thrilled setting up my new system that I didn’t notice.
