Tetris is here to make sure you hit that space bar really hard for maximum impact. In reality, even without any benefit from the class, your gaming might bother those nearby. Avoid it. Look for a quieter way to pass the time if you can't leave but don't want to focus. Perhaps reading some books could help.

Have you explored real-life experiences? I believe it's quite impressive. Why choose Steam when you can install it on school computers? And if so, what's the reason for the 512Mt of VRAM limitation?

Back then it was CS before version 1.6 and the BF1942 demo. Prior to that, "LAN" didn't exist (before 2000).
