I have 1 GB internet with direct connection to the modem, providing 1000 Mbps, yet via TP Link it drops to 100 Mbps, using the same Cat6e cable, but the light shows yellow instead of green.

Sometimes bad cables occur. Consider using a different patch cable.

Find the exact connection link? Occasionally, a cable might support 1000 devices on one unit and only 100 when linked to another.

It might have been dirt on one of the contact wires that cleaned itself away.
I have a cable that doesn’t connect as it should, and even a slight touch causes it to drop to 100mbps.
It’s too easy to ignore fixing it because the machine doesn’t require that speed.
Having a spare cable nearby would make troubleshooting much easier next time.
