I'm really nervous, but I need to update the BIOS for the Asrock z170 Extreme4 motherboard.
Good morning. I’m using a new rig via IBuyPower PC and have encountered some minor freezing issues. A Microsoft tech suggested updating the BIOS, but I’m unsure how to proceed. The manufacturer’s warnings and forum discussions about flashing the BIOS have made me nervous. Since this is my only entertainment device—no TV, stereo connected to the PC—I really want it to work smoothly. I have an older rig as a backup, but I’d prefer this one to be in good shape.
Could you help me find clear instructions that someone with basic knowledge can follow? I’m struggling with the technical terms in the manuals.
Thanks for your assistance.

Thank you for the link. I assume it's the "Windows" version, not the "Instant Flash"?
SkyNetRising shared the Asrock Live Update APP Shop link. It allows updating BIOS from Windows. The page also directs to http://www.asrock.com/feature/appshop/. Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer a real BIOS update; only apps for Mobo are available. Still useful, so I downloaded the program.
