The top stable barrier I possess is the Balder shield, which I upgraded with my second slab. It holds up against occasional stray hits, though it struggles against his rapid flip attacks that switch between L1 positions.

I believe this was around when I began playing it too! Lol I got the PS3 for DS and that game was amazing. I didn't play ng+ on it either, and my first PS4 game was BB ofc—it's a decent title but not quite as impressive as any of the Souls games I've seen.

That's awesome! I was really impressed when I first played DeS. The only downside was the upgrade materials—after going through the NG blind, I learned a lot but also saw the crystal lizards vanish and had to kill a skeleton 200 times just to get that Bladestone with a 0.5% drop rate. Eventually, after three hours of grinding, I finally got it! 😂 Loading times were another issue too; playing on an SSD really helped avoid frustration. Have you tried any other games lately?

Oh no, the PvP in Dark Souls Two was really bad. It would have been great if the servers worked better. I once heard a friend suggest either figuring out how to dodge phantom hits or just use them, but I shouldn’t have had to learn how to overcome lag on every server. That should have been fixed before the game launched during testing.

I believe PvP in DaS2 was significantly better than in DaS1. I began playing DaS1 right after switching to Steam servers from GFWL, and it still felt rough. Phantom hits exist in both titles, but DaS1 suffers from the "lag backstab" problem that makes it worse overall. The ability to whiff backstabs in 2 provides some improvement. Heavy weapons remain functional in 2 thanks to better animation timing, though general poise is noticeably lacking there.

I had a great time with the pure greystone in under half an hour! I was excited because I saw places where it took hours for others. For the boss battles, I really enjoyed the game and if you love souls and have a PS4, it’s essential to play. There are mainly two types of bosses: large armored fighters or something intense like "Flame Lurker." The final boss was a solid challenge. Loading times were a bit annoying—they keep loading forever, making it hard to enjoy. I used to be a console gamer until I upgraded my PC in May, but my system still only had an HDD (which will be fixed soon). Without knowing SSD speeds, I didn’t notice the difference much.

Haha, the loading time thing for me is a throwback to my initial play-throughs of Obvlivion and Skyrim on XB360/PS3. I dreaded having to wait for a load screen just to go into a small house! That really limited my enjoyment of exploring and talking to NPCs, although I still logged hundreds of hours into both of those games. I was about to buy a PS4 on launch, but then my HDD took a dive on my old WinXP desktop I bought in 2006 for school. I needed a replacement so I put a PC together with a decent video card and parked it under the livingroom TV instead (1h 2014). Looking back I just wish I had done this sooner! I use a cheapo wireless KB&M or wireless XB360 controller and sit on the couch enjoying my favorite titles just like playing a console! (Except in 1080p 60fps) How do you like your PC so far? We pretty much have the same setup minus the SSD and I've been really happy with mine after ~18 months.
