Considering a move to Optimum isn't clear—could impact gaming performance because it's not fully fiber-based.

I moved to FIOS earlier for improved signal quality and speed adjustments. They don’t provide gigabit speeds for around $90.

In my situation, visiting Optimum would save money, though have you experienced any problems with them before? I really appreciate not facing any issues with FiOS.

Certainly more than w/ FiOS. Nothing awful. They are a nightmare to deal with now though ever since the Altice acquisition. I would not recommend them for that reason alone. They give everyone such a hard time.

presently cable providers can reach a maximum speed of 1 Gbps down and 35-45 Mbps up. That applies only if DOCSIS 3.1 is available in your region. If Optimum, owned by Altice, isn’t moving to Docsis 3.1, they’re planning to switch to fiber eventually. I’ll stick with Fiber with Verizon.
