He thinks the bio update for the ASUS ROG Strix B450 is limited in effectiveness and believes it won’t last long. He’s looking for reasons why it could work longer, especially since he prefers the Ryzen 5 3600X. Any explanation or proof would make a big difference.

It functions only briefly for short periods. I don’t have concrete evidence to confirm this, but it reliably operates most of the time. Plus, there’s essentially no alternative to upgrading to a newer version, so that’s probably the best option available.

You can confidently proceed, and I’ll handle the cost if things go wrong. The Asus F boards are designed to work with Ryzen 3000 chips right away.

The Asus support page offers BIOS updates for download. It’s unclear why they’d include this if the chip wasn’t actually supported. 2. For BIOS version 2301 on that board, the 3600X is now supported. Be sure to read the BIOS flashing guide in the manual.
