The issue began possibly a month ago. I attempt to reach regular websites like YouTube or EpicGames, but the server disconnects. When using Fortnite, the connection drops. On Wi-Fi, it works smoothly, opening in seconds. With a VPN plugin, everything functions correctly. This suggests a problem with my IP address or router settings. Can someone assist?

Have you attempted contacting your internet service provider? They may check for issues on your side. Unless you prefer their view of your browsing activity.

Yeah, I reached out. They mentioned they’ll send someone tomorrow, but I just wanted to see what the forums have to offer. Edit: They function perfectly if you’re curious.

It seems they might run from their location, though that’s likely their standard method. There could be an issue with your ISP’s DNS servers. By default, a computer uses the provider’s DNS servers. You can change them yourself—it’s free and often more reliable than your ISP. Open Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network and Sharing Center, click on Change Adapter settings. Right-click your connection icon (Wireless Network Connection or Local Area Connection) and choose properties. Pick Internet protocol version 4. Click “Use the following DNS server address” and enter either of the two options provided: Google Public DNS Preferred DNS server : 8.8.8.8 Alternate DNS server : 8.8.4.4 OpenDNS Preferred DNS server : 208.67.222.222 Alternate DNS server : 208.67.220.220 Or enable automatic selection if not set.

Yes, it refers to the DNS server failing to resolve a domain name.

It seems you're wondering about why you were taken out of the Fortnite game. Let me help clarify that.

It seems like a DNS problem might be the cause. After updating the DNS server address, the issue disappeared.
