I’m trying to restart Windows now since it isn’t functioning properly. There are two suggestions I’ve heard—one for resetting Windows 10 on the DIVER and another for using a flash drive. I’m unsure if backing it up will delete the installation from the drive or just remove it from my PC. I had to go through the reset process because it wasn’t working, and now I’m not sure what will happen if I try it again.

Open Windows settings, select Update & Security, then choose recovery on the left panel. In "Reset this PC" click "Get started" and proceed with the guidance.

I want to remove all data from your PC and Windows, but I’m unsure whether this will affect your Windows 10 copy on the flash drive.

Good job on the setup. All configurations are cleared, but the system remains intact. Just make sure to back up important files before proceeding. It should function normally once everything resets.

I have reinstalled my PC several times. The Windows installation was never removed, only reset.

Choose a clean setup from a USB Windows installer, then pick the partitions, delete them by clicking the X button, and finally see the entire drive before installing.

You can start from the Windows 10 installer on your USB drive and format your existing HDD/SSD before reinstalling Windows. Alternatively, use the recovery options to erase all data and settings, which will essentially reset your system for a clean setup. There’s no separate installation required—just follow the initial setup steps.
