Hi everyone, I'm assisting my friend with the issue he encountered. He mentioned playing Rocket League last night and suddenly getting a black screen. After restarting his PC, another black screen appeared. We managed to boot into safe mode and reviewed the log (picture 1: login screen). Once logged in, he noticed an error message: trying to reinstall the graphics driver resulted in Error 182 (AMD installation software). He suspects the GPU might be dead, but wants confirmation before recommending a replacement. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance, Steapn.

This indicates the GPU is likely experiencing problems.

Thank you for your reply. Should I advise him to purchase a GPU? Are there any alternatives that don’t cost anything?

He can consider a few options if he’s willing: baking the GPU (meaning placing it in the oven...but you must do this extremely carefully). This point needs strong emphasis—you’ll need to search online to understand the process and reasons behind it. Deep cleaning, as shown in the video, is also not assured to succeed.
