Hello everyone, welcome! I recently installed a Cat6 cable for my son's PC, but it caps at around 128 Mbps. Despite using the same cable on his laptop, he achieves up to 900 Mbps. I've tried various networking solutions, but I'm hoping someone can offer guidance.

It seems like the PC is restricting network speed. Any gaming programs with a priority setting or other features that could slow things down? Are there Ethernet drivers already set up on the system? Have you attempted to clear or reinstall those drivers from the manufacturer's website?

I checked by switching to safe mode networking, but the problem remains. It looks like a fresh installation would fix it, though I’m holding off right now! All drivers have been reinstalled already.

The speed suggests it's operating around 100mbps. Did you verify the system logs for any OS information?

Not really, you're seeing 128mbps but it's configured for 1 gigabit.
