I experience severe lag spikes in video games every 15-30 seconds after connecting to Wi-Fi. This issue started with my internet setup and disappeared when I streamed live, but now it persists. Over the past month, the spikes have increased in frequency and intensity. I've tried resetting devices, changing routers, contacting my ISP, but nothing resolves the problem. It's becoming very difficult to play, and I'm considering giving up. Please help if you recognize this situation. I've attached a video showing the lag pattern and a packet loss test image for reference. final_5fd987c933625000698af438_197934.mp4

A connected cable is likely to resolve your problem. It's challenging to pinpoint the exact reason for the lagspikes via Wi-Fi, whether it involves the service provider, router, or Wi-Fi device.

I've tested a wired setup, but the issue persists. I've tried nearly everything. The only clue is the Roku TV in my home; their streaming often lags significantly. Even when all other devices are off, those large lag spikes still occur.

Consider turning off Windows system sounds. This often resolves issues with wireless connections. Previously, this was a common fix for problems in BF3 and BF4. Have you tried another method besides Wi-Fi?

You meant by alternative something different or another way. The issue with turning off the Windows system sounds likely isn't happening through the console, since your brother's setup also worked and you've played elsewhere.

You meant to establish a direct link to a network device such as a router, access point, or modem. The cable used is either Cat 5E or Cat 6.

I linked to the Ethernet and reached the router directly. I don’t understand what’s wrong. If I had plugged into the router’s enclosure, it would have no effect. The likely issue is a faulty cable or connection.

Not always accurate. Simply linking the cable straight to the modem/router wouldn’t guarantee complete safety, which is why they developed Ethernet cables with stronger shielding against interference. That’s why I wanted to know what type of wire you’re using. If it’s Cat 5E, you’d have minimal protection beyond its twisted pairs. This doesn’t mean the problem lies there. Have you adjusted your NIC adapter settings in the "network and sharing center"?
