Hello, I experienced black screens while gaming about four years ago and have been trying various fixes without success.
Here are the details of my system:
GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Dual 8GB
CPU: Intel i5-9400F 2.90GHz
CPU cooler: Intel Socket E97379-003 4-Pin Connector
Storage: WD Blue Sata SSD 250 GB
Motherboard: msi b365m pro-vdh / BIOS version 1.42
SSD: WD Blue SATA SSD 250 GB
RAM: Team T-Force DELTA RGB TUF GAMING (2×8) DDR4 2933 CL16 1.35v
Power supply: Thermaltake Litepower LTP-0650P-2 650W
Monitor: Acer kg1 series 24 144hz kg241q
Chassis: THERMALTAKE V200 TEMPERED GLASS MID-TOWER, 3 FAN RGB SPECTRE
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045

I attempted several solutions: running sfc/scan, DISM CheckHealth via CMD, updating BIOS and resetting to defaults, disabling GPU driver in safe mode with a fresh install, setting power performance to maximum.
I also tested the GPU on my brother’s machine, including a stress test for about 15 minutes—temperature stayed stable, and it ran fine.
After cleaning dust from components and checking cables, I tried running a game at full GPU usage; temperatures reached 76-77°C and it crashed after about 15 minutes when exiting the game menu.
I even restarted Windows and noticed an error in Event Viewer: critical system error with details about the crash.

Please let me know if you could help identify the issue—whether it’s related to my power supply or a software problem.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
my build includes RTX2060 Super with 650 W Lite power Thermaltake PSU
How old is the PSU in your build? If you suspect your PSU to be the root cause of the issue, source(borrow, not buy a reliably built PSU with 550W of power at the entire system's disposal and see if the issue persists.
On second thoughts, please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

I will leave that here if anyone had an issue like mine. It turns out the problem wasn't due to the PSU not supplying enough power. The real cause was the PCIe cable. Switching to the other end of the PCIe cable for the GPU fixed the issue.
