This issue is likely due to a corrupted component store. The dism command I requested requires Windows Update as the source. While it can be executed locally, you’ll need an ISO image of the Windows install media—such as a USB copy—not just a file. You must also extract the install.wim file from the ISO to use it with the dism command. This process is quite complex and isn’t suggested unless you’re certain about your actions.

If this appears to be a registry problem, running Startup Repair from the Windows installation media might resolve it. Power on your Windows installation media (any version of Windows 11 works), choose Repair My Computer, then go to Startup Repair. Check if the dism command functions afterward.

Should that fail, consider performing a Cloud Reset of Windows. Navigate to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset. Choose the Keep My Files option, then select the Cloud Download option (this retrieves files from Microsoft). Test whether the dism command runs post-reset.

If none of these steps succeed, proceed with a clean install of the 24H2 version of Windows. This will delete everything, so ensure you back up all user data, bookmarks, and other important information beforehand. Additionally, gather the necessary drivers from your motherboard website and installation files for any third-party software.

I made an installation media on a flash drive, but when you mention booting into it, do you mean restarting the computer or running the setup.exe file on the drive? EDIT: I realized which option was correct. However, after completing that step, it reported it couldn't repair the computer. I tried the Cloud Reset, but that also didn't help. After restarting, I signed back into my Microsoft Account and received a message saying it couldn't reset the system. All installed programs still appear to be working fine.

You can set up Windows 24H2 by choosing to keep personal files and settings. This process will install Windows 11 24H2 along with your existing programs and apps. It functioned smoothly on my computer without any problems.

Based on what you've just gone through, my suggestion would be to proceed with the necessary steps, restore everything, and perform a fresh installation of 24H2 without any additional files. I'm saying this because even if you manage to upgrade to 24H2, you'll likely still not be certain it was a clean process, and you might later encounter several minor problems. If your goal is a reliable operating system, and considering the issues you've faced, a complete clean install seems to be the most effective option.

I also note that I perform a clean install every time I release a major version of Windows 11.

Alright, I'll try that, then. I've already been moving lots of my files onto an external drive when I was clearing space from my PC (when I thought space was the reason the update kept failing), So I can just do that with the rest of the files I haven't moved yet.

Ensure you have copied all crucial documents prior to executing a complete system reset.

I prepared all possible backups. The reinstallation proceeded without issues (it's now up to 24H2, and the second scan passed during testing). However, I'm still facing difficulties reinstalling the Floorp browser (a Firefox-based app that has been my primary choice for several months), encountering strange errors even though it worked before.

I checked the Floorp browser; it wouldn't install on my PC. It's still under development. You might want to try Firefox 64-bit instead and see what happens.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Firefox. I reinstalled it again after Floorp didn't work (I didn't want to keep using Edge for too long), especially since I set up a local account to use it separately from my Microsoft account. I'm not sure why that happened.
