Hello, I’m experiencing an issue with my Steam servers. My Steam games only connect to the server via Wi-Fi, not Ethernet. I’m unsure of the cause. Other games function normally. My Origin titles (Battlefield VI and V, FIFA Manager) operate without problems. However, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Civilization VI, and other Steam online games exclusively require a Wi-Fi connection. I have attempted various troubleshooting steps.

Here’s my system configuration:

Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
Processor: OctalCore Intel Core i9-9900K @ 4800 MHz (48 x 100)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Xtreme (featuring 2 PCI-E x1 slots, 3 PCI-E x16 slots, 3 M.2 slots, 4 DDR4 DIMM slots, audio, video, dual Gigabit LAN, and Wi-Fi)
Chipset: Intel Cannon Point Z390 & Intel Coffee Lake-S
Memory: Corsair CMD16GX4M2E4000C19 (8GB DDR4-4000 SDRAM – various timings)
BIOS: AMI (03/14/2019)
Graphics Card: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (11 GB)
Storage: Kingston SH103S3480G (480GB SATA-III), Samsung SSD 960 PRO 512GB (PCI-E 3.0 x4)
Network Adapters: Aquantia AQtion 10Gbit Network Adapter, Intel® Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V, Intel® Wireless-AC 9560
Router: Asus RT-AC68U
Internet: Optical fiber – 65MB speed

All drivers are up to date. I have disabled my firewall and antivirus software. Could you please assist me?

Thank you,
Ricardo Freitas

Here’s a rewritten version of the text, focusing on clarity and conciseness:

“I'm experiencing persistent internet connectivity issues primarily when using Steam. Downloads and uploads consistently reach 8.1 MB/s without drops, which is normal for my connection speed. However, games connected through Steam (specifically War Thunder) fail to connect to their servers via cable. Other games from Origin, Gaijin Entertainment, and Valve’s client do not exhibit this problem. I've attempted troubleshooting steps including reinstalling Steam, deleting associated folders, and disabling firewalls and Cortana. I suspect a conflict within Windows due to these actions, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact cause. Notably, steam games never connect with cable (cat6). It seems the issue is specific to the Steam platform’s connection protocols.”

The system’s IP configuration details show that the computer has obtained an IPv4 address of 192.168.2.189 through DHCP, utilizing a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 192.168.2.1. It employs both Ethernet and Wi-Fi adapters, each configured for automatic IP acquisition. The network includes an Intel Ethernet connection, an Aquantia Network Adapter, and wireless components like Intel Wireless-AC 9560 and Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapters. DNS servers are set to 192.168.2.1.

Here’s a rewritten version of the text, focusing on clarity and removing redundancies:

“I’m experiencing an issue with my Steam games. When I start combat modes in titles like Civilization or other Steam games, they frequently get stuck in the loading process. It doesn't seem to be related to internet connectivity – I’ve tried Google’s DNS without success. The games simply remain in a perpetual ‘loading’ state and never actually begin. This happens consistently when playing these specific types of games.”
