I'm getting started with your Windows 10 laptop setup.
At first it asked for updates and I thought I could accept them all. I downloaded everything but ended up with a tool called my search. No matter how often I switched Chrome to the default, it kept redirecting me there. I also tried Microsoft Edge, but it didn’t help either. It opens suspicious ads and I just got this new laptop. What should I do?
It might be a virus; consider restarting your laptop and erasing all data.
I understand you're not very familiar with technology, and I appreciate you coming here for assistance.
You can try using a portable power adapter to run the laptop. Just connect it directly to the power source and see if it works. If you're unsure, check if your device supports external power sources or consider using a different method. Don't worry about the Windows 10 install disc—it won’t affect the process.
The ideal approach is to reset the laptop and reinstall it. You’ll likely need to create your own installation media such as a USB drive, CD, or floppy. Microsoft offers a tool called Windows Media Creation to help with this. Someone else will need to provide you with the product key since I don’t use Windows and have no clue where it’s located. It might be on a label on the laptop or included in the software.
