Check your setup for VR compatibility. Oculus or Vive systems often need specific graphics drivers and performance settings. Ensure your MSI 1060 supports the required resolutions and refresh rates, and consider updating your drivers for better VR performance.

Vive leads in performance yet comes at a higher price. Oculus Rift offers a more affordable option with satisfactory results. Choose based on your budget. If you're willing to wait, both HTC Vive and Oculus will likely receive updates soon.

The GTX 1060 and 4790 work well for VR, but a Vive would be ideal. Oculus is solid too—especially with their controllers and headset—but configuring room scale is much simpler on the Vive.

No idea at all about when that will happen.

Vive has launched their Vive Pro at $799, targeting businesses such as developers and arcades. Improved specifications may eventually benefit consumers, though the timeline remains uncertain. Only HTC has confirmed details. Oculus updates are typically uncertain, but many expect a purchase during the upcoming holiday season. If you're patient, wait for the right moment; otherwise, buy what fits your budget now.
