I'm moving to a new PC and I have the product key for After Effects and Premiere Pro CS5. Why can't I just go to the official website to download the software so it asks me for my key? I would rather not use shady torrents or unofficial sites because I actually own this legitimately, lol.

There is no reason they need to download everything all the time. You bought it once, and probably already downloaded it. Keeping those downloads would have been a smart move for you. But...CS6 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/k...tions.html Create an account at Adobe. That should let your d/l what you need.

I don't know any accounts or discs for this stuff. So I probably can't use these tricks. Just the key is all I have too. Also, I typed CS5 instead of CS6 by mistake; I'll fix the link title later. But maybe I finally answered my own question: https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-limits-...loads.html It looks like Adobe no longer gives links for CS6 officially. That's annoying because if you buy software, you get to keep it and use it forever without hacking around. But maybe there is an end-of-life deal that allows them to do this?
