I just changed my BIOS for an ASUS Prime A320M-R two years ago. Now my Ryzen 5 5600X sits idle at 57°C, but climbs to 90°C during gaming. Previously it was around 40°C idle and about 80°C in the worst games. I stopped using it once it hit 90°C because it felt too hot. I haven’t ever undervolted my CPU before and used the default BIOS settings before the update. Someone suggested undervolting could help lower temperatures, so I looked for it in the BIOS but it didn’t show up. Even after searching, it only offered a toggle to monitor temperature. Have you heard of any tips? I also re-applied thermal paste about a year ago. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 5600X with stock Wraith cooler GTX 1060 (6GB/16GB), Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz, ASUS Prime A320M-R board running the latest BIOS (14th November 2024), Cooler Master AWE V2 500W PSU. Front has 3 intake fans, rear fan recently cleaned of dust.
