Everything was set up cleanly. Drivers and gaming clients were reinstalled, and a few small programs like MSi afterburner were updated. RAM usage dropped to 2.2GB, which is unusual. I didn’t have any extra software beyond what was already installed.

6.4gb when idle is huge. I'm just updating my drivers now, before I was using a solid 4gb idle. It's dropped to 1.7gb now.

We can't inform you about this because it's a brand new setup. It'll just remain a mystery.

It varies based on the purpose of the RAM. You didn't mention if it was part of a cache, such as Superfetch storing data for faster access. RAM used for caching differs from RAM allocated by an app, which could be taken away if the app needs more than what's available.

I didn’t have anything similar configured, which makes it a bit puzzling to me lol

I got a fresh setup for you—just 2.2gb with no drivers installed. Your performance dropped from 211 to around 160, that’s noticeable.

You didn<|pad|> or Superfetch, as it’s included with Windows 10 and turned on automatically. That means the unusual behavior was probably just temporary data.
