You're asking about a registry option that would trigger Windows to recheck hardware detection and setup when moving an HDD. It sounds like you're looking for a way to automate the installation process on a new PC. Someone might be referring to a feature related to hardware detection or system reinstallation. Let me know if you'd like help finding the right settings or steps!

No, no.. Have you ever taken your installation of windows. And plugged your HDD to an entirely new PC.. It will go through a process to detecting your hardware and installation of the new configuration. Takes maybe 10minutes to complete.. It's a really good feature of windows 10 allowing you to if you need to move your installation of windows 10 across multiple devices.. I would like to think this so called rebuild of hardware configuration may solve my issues with this PC..

It doesn't behave as expected. Yes, it will set up new drivers and recognize new hardware without issues. However, when you revert to your old hardware, the same problems persist. The system will apply the best available drivers for it, but these are faulty. Unless you upgrade your hardware, the only solution to fix issues with an older computer is to install the correct drivers.

I also reinstalled Windows, and sometimes dedicating too much time to a task ends up wasting it! Cheers
