ZachyBeat shared their experience with the setup. They mentioned the 970A UD3 and 212 Evo with an FX 8320 at 4.5Ghz, achieving a TM of 26C under load. They noted a reading of 56C TM under load, which they interpreted as either stock or overclocked. They observed that after reaching full understanding, the temperature settled between 18-21°C, and experienced a slight FPS improvement with more frames and fewer drops, especially when running TF2.

overclocking won't resolve the bottleneck, but it will enhance performance. I've already received advice and would share the outcomes. Which games are causing these issues? Most of them show FPS between 60 and 250.

Alec_7 :
overclocking won't solve the bottleneck, but it can boost performance.
I'd OC with advice already provided and share the outcomes.
Which games are causing issues?
Most of them show FPS swings between 60 and 250.
That's typical for AMD CPUs since they lack very fast single-core speeds—they reach their limits quickly.
Overclocking should increase the lowest, average, and highest FPS, but it won't eliminate the bottleneck.
In games on all gaming PCs, higher FPS is normal during normal gameplay, but drops during intense battles are common.
What games experience the most significant drops?

Alec_7 shares insights on overclocking limitations, noting it won't resolve bottlenecks but may boost performance. They suggest OC with prior advice and ask about specific game issues. The discussion highlights AMD CPUs' slow single-core speeds and how overclocking affects FPS in different game scenarios.

Alec_7 shared feedback on the performance setup, noting the 8+2 power phase supports good overclocking. They mentioned using a 970A UD3 with an FX 8320 at 4.5Ghz and a TM of 26C under load, observing a reading of 56C TM. The user questioned whether this was stock or overclocked, asking about idle vs. load conditions. They described the high TM during load as low temperatures but noted room for further heat without extreme values. After analysis, the system stabilized in the 18-21 range, with a recent crash under 4.4-4.5Ghz, though FPS remained decent. They suggested either increasing voltage slightly or lowering clock speed to 4.3Ghz for better stability.

To resolve the bottleneck, you'd need to run a game utilizing all six cores or upgrade your CPU. This is because OC will only enhance overall FPS. If you wish to upgrade, create another thread and proceed with the following details:

Full System Specs:
Budget:
Intended Use:
Color Scheme preference:
OEM or Retail windows:
Please note: Do not share any OS information except confirming OEM status in the license code section.

ZachyBeat shared feedback on overclocking performance, noting the 8+2 power phase supports good overclock potential. They mentioned using a 970A UD3 with an FX 8320 at 4.5Ghz and a TM of 26C under load, observing a reading of 56C TM. They asked whether this indicates stock or overclocked hardware, and discussed temperature behavior during idle versus load. ZachyBeat also shared their experience with stability issues, experiencing drops in FPS when the clock rose to around 4.3-4.5Ghz, though they noted some frame stability improvements in TF2. They suggested either increasing voltage slightly or lowering the clock to maintain stability.
