Everything seems okay. It’s probably just cached data from Windows or something similar. For instance, my memory consumption is around 40%, yet Firefox uses about 800 MB. The task manager shows 4.5 GB in cache, which brings the total "in use" to roughly 40% and 6.4 GB overall. Unused RAM is just wasted space.

You're either okay or you're doing great. The system will stay smooth around 60% memory usage because it keeps enough space to manage sudden memory needs while keeping programs ready for quick access. That's why I recommend most builders invest in 2x16GB drives if they can afford a bit more in a powerful setup.
