Hello, your PC's CPU usage frequently jumps to 90% and remains high. Opening Task Manager brings it back to normal, which makes it hard to identify the cause. Malwarebytes didn’t help, and checking msconfig didn’t reveal anything. Someone might recommend using additional antivirus tools or performing a full system scan. If none of these work, reinstalling Windows could be the next step.

You can detect high CPU usage even without seeing it in Task Manager by monitoring system performance metrics or using resource management tools. If Task Manager identifies the problem, maintaining it open ensures continuous monitoring and early detection.

I rely on "Open Hardware Monitor" to track temperatures and workloads on my computer. The Task Manager isn't suitable for me, so I have to uninstall it when issues arise.

Did you try Autoruns as suggested by @PorkishPig? If not, I strongly recommend giving it a go—it provides detailed insights into what will execute on your system. It goes beyond just Msconfig. You can also use other tools to uncover more hidden malware or variants that aren’t in signature databases (assuming there’s a miner). But always run autoruns first and share your findings.
