Identifying issues with Ethernet through wall sockets on the GS105 switch
Hello everyone, I recently relocated to a new location and set up a central hub for internet access. The setup uses wall cabling that connects directly to the router via Ethernet ports. It functions when routing cables straight from the wall socket in specific rooms to devices, but sometimes it fails after a reboot or when connecting through a switch. Connecting to a switch resolves the issue, though I’m still troubleshooting the scenario where plugging into a switch causes an "unidentified network no internet access" error. I plan to document my setup and any warnings in photos later. For now, here’s a basic overview of the configuration: Direct connection version – DSL → Router (Fritz!Box 7590) → Cat6 Ethernet → Unknown wall cable → Wall outlet → PC – Working. GS105 Switch version – Same upstream – but connection to the switch triggers the error.
