I need to share my current setup details. I'm considering replacing my PSU, but I'll discuss the specifics later. I'm visiting this site because I want to avoid overspending, just in case the new unit isn't what I expect. At the same time, I'm unsure if my 520W can support this upgrade. My components include a Ryzen 5 2600X processor, a Hyper 212 EVO cooler, a GTX 1080 graphics card, and a PNY RAM setup with two 8GB DDR4 modules at 2400MHz. The motherboard is Micro ATX with an ASROCK B450M steel case, and I have a 1TB WD Blue HDD spinning at 7.2k RPM. I also have an M.2 SSD, though it was previously damaged. My PSU is a Seasonic 520W unit with VR support. I don't know if VR increases power draw, but it likely does due to dual 90Hz displays. Under heavy load, the system shuts down unexpectedly, restarts to POST, and sometimes freezes during VR sessions. Event Viewer shows no warning before the crash. I lowered CPU and GPU clocks to their base settings, hoping to reduce power use. VR games still cause blackouts. The default VRChat home works, but other worlds trigger the same restart. Blade and Sorcery behave similarly. As long as I'm idle, it runs smoothly. Mixed reality mode is fine. I believe the power supply is likely the issue—it's been near full capacity for too long, possibly due to high-power components. I've checked the minimum PSU requirements for a GTX 1080 and found they're around 500W. I should order a new PSU soon, arriving in five days. I'll update later once I have more information.
