Identify the overheating issue with the CPU.
Hello, I'm working on upgrading my PC and ran into a problem switching from AM4 to AM5. I purchased a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and it overheats quickly even when just in the BIOS. Once I power on the machine, it starts warming up rapidly, reaching 80°C in minutes, then shuts down due to overheating. When I try to restart it, it shows an Overheating error. I have a new Coolermaster Masterliquid 360L Core White AIO cooler. All fans are running smoothly and seem to operate at full speed. I reset the CMOS, updated the BIOS, re-pasted the CPU several times, and checked for bent pins on the motherboard. The motherboard is new (ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI). In the BIOS it indicates the AIO pump is working and I feel a vibration when it activates. After booting into Windows briefly, I installed the ASUS software to check if that would resolve the issue, but it still overheats. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Parts: CPU – Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Cooler – Coolermaster Masterliquid 360L Core White MOBO, GPU – 7900XT, RAM – Corsair Vengeance 32GB 6400MHz, PSU – Corsair m850.
Cooler functionality may be compromised, possibly due to improper installation or a lingering protective layer.
I verified and took off the protective film. I have a backup cooler, so I’ll go ahead with that.
The cooler seems to be the problem, using my old one resolved the issue. Appreciate the assistance!
