As mentioned earlier, OEM keys are attached to the motherboard. If the motherboard changes, those keys disappear. So, if you replace the RAM, will Windows still work? I have 8GB and plan to upgrade to 16GB... Will the system shut down because of the RAM change?

It should work as long as the RAM matches the specifications and avoids OEM modifications.

I wasn't using an OEM Windows 10 key. My graphics cards changed a few times, and I increased my RAM from 16GB to 32GB. It never turned off until I recently updated the CPU and motherboard. After that change, it finally did shut down.

Windows algorithm for changing out hardware vs getting deactivation is unknown. Linus has a video on this, it just happens after various amount of swaps and checks. You can also call them for reactivation as far as I am aware.

Got it - no tax payment needed, so everything was clear. Thanks!

That's correct, Ebay keys are tied to the original purchase. Once disabled, they won't work. Apologies for the oversight!
