Hello, I'm working with a VGA converter for my laptop to a monitor that's 1080P. My monitor supports HDMI but only has one port, which I connect to my PC. I use the VGA port of my monitor and a VGA-to-HDMI converter to send the signal to my laptop. The issue arises when I plug the converter into the laptop and start it after some time—then the screen goes black, and the laptop shows it can't connect. When I unplug and plug it back in, it works. Testing with the monitor's HDMI port fixes the problem. My converter brand is K2, which I haven't heard of and don’t have a website for. My question is whether using a Ventry or Ugreen converter would solve this or if I need a HDMI switcher.

Based on past experiences, an HDMI switch tends to be cheaper and more dependable compared to a HDMI to VGA converter. You can test your converter by connecting it to another computer and/or monitor. Good luck!
