Hey there, I’ve noticed this on my G9 too. Windows apps and basic features don’t show the same distortion as games do. Now I have a 4090 with a waterblock issue, but the problem still shows up in the menu. If I set something very high, it disappears or goes away. How can I fix this? I searched online but didn’t find the right terms. What do you think?

It seems like the issue relates to the aspect ratio. You're experiencing stretching when viewing full-screen videos on your XG 43" Ultra wide 21:9 monitor, especially when locked to a specific pane. Are you playing a particular game or just testing a general setup?

basically any game works well with my library. I’m not locked into a specific resolution or aspect ratio, they all run smoothly at full 5120x1440 (or maybe 2160). Everything looks normal from the center. Take cyberpunk for example—someone walks left or right and their proportions change from normal to stretched or fat. Even camera shifts create the same effect. Crysis 3, SOTR, Rise/Tomb Raider, F1 2x*, Doom Eternal, etc.—the 32:9 ratio still works, but beyond 16:9 it starts to distort. It’s not a major issue, though, since the monitor and card alone are probably around 3k without the PC, components, or other factors.

Isn't it about the area you can see? Often games don't adjust well or line up correctly.

I had the same idea. Certain games obviously can’t let you adjust it, while others can. It comes down to getting that perfect balance—90 is typical, so 105-115 seems ideal. Of course, if the game allows, just change the setting and forget about stretching; otherwise, you’d end up with a huge field of view, like 180 degrees. That’s still an issue since most games don’t expect 32:9 screens, but I think it would disappear completely on my other 16:9 displays.

Mainly the games featuring that kind of perspective are racing sims and flight sims, probably.
